Later that month, in Warsaw, the November 1830 Uprising broke out, and Woyciechowski returned to Poland to enlist. Shortly before he died, sensing the end was near, Chopin had requested that Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart be sung at his funeral service at the Church of the Madeleine. In the 1960s, he began conducting rather than composing because he felt a lack of creative inspiration. Chopin established the piano as a solo instrument free from choral or orchestral influence.

As a child, Chopin's formidable talent was apparent.
